Caitlin Krueger: The Transformative Power of Mercy College Gifts

Snyder.jpgCaitlin Krueger ’05 is a living testament to the idea that you don’t have to wait until you’re older to have an impact through charitable giving. At age 29 she has already made a significant contribution to Mercy College, an organization dear to her heart.

A native of Westchester County, New York, Caitlin graduated from Mercy College with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. While enrolled in the Honors Program at Mercy, she enjoyed gathering on campus with other students to debate issues of global concern. She notes that her professors were “passionate, intelligent, and challenging.” In addition to an outstanding education, Mercy College also provided her with “a support system that started upon enrollment and continues to this day.”

To ensure other students without financial means have access to Mercy’s “one-of-a-kind education,” Caitlin has made a gift of her life insurance policy. As she explains, “This type of gift will allow me to make the most impact,” adding, “if my gift allows just one young man or woman to have the same life-changing experience that I had at Mercy College, then it was worth every penny.”

She encourages other alumni to support the College through charitable giving. She says, “I have been able to witness firsthand the transformative power our donors have on the institution.”
